Der Tektronix SG504 ist der große Bruder des SG503 und liefert ein Sinussignal von 245...1050 MHz. Er hält über sein gesamtes Spektrum die Amplitude auf ± 0,5% konstant hält. Die Amplitude läßt sich über ein Heli-Poti hervorragend von 0...5,5V einstellen. Als Eingang setzt er ein 50 Ohm System voraus, genutzt wird der Einschub um die Bandbreite von z.B. Scopes zu messen. In Service Manuals von Philips Scope's findet man Hinweise auf diesen Generator. Zum Betrieb des SG504 ist ein Leveling-Head notwendig, in ihm befindet sich pauschal gesprochen nur eine Diode und ein Kondensator um den Spitzenwert des Sinus zu messen. Dieser Wert wird dann der Amplitudenregelung wieder zugeführt.
The Tektronix SG504 is the large brother of the SG503 and supplies a sine signal of 245... 1050 MHz. It keeps the amplitude constant over its entire spectrum ± 0.5%. The amplitude can be adjusted over a heli potentiometer outstanding by 0... 5,5V. As input it presupposes a 50 ohm system, the plug-in used for measuring e.g. oscilloscopes bandwidth. In some of Philips's oscilloscopes service manuals, one finds referring to this generator. For the application of the SG504 a leveling output-head probe is necessary, in it only one diode and a capacitor measures the peak value of the sine. This value is then supplied as feedback to adjusting the amplitude.
