• All deflection factors are within 2% with gain adjusted at 0.1 V/DIV when drive from a 50 ohm source.
• Frequency Response 1 GHz 10 mV to 1 V/DIV together with a 7104 mainframe. Bandwidth with other mainframe depending on mainframe vertical bandwidth, with 7904 or 7904A 500 MHz, 78XX 400 MHz, 770X 175 MHz, 76XX 100 MHz and 73XX 25 MHz (for 0 to about 30 °C).
• Maximum Input DC coupled 10 Vrms or 1 watt-second-pulses not exeed 50 Vpeak.
• Maximum AC couled maximum 100 V additional dc component, derates linearly to 0 volts at 60 Hz.
• Input Impedance dc coupled 50 ohms within 1 ohm, ac coupled 50 ohms within 1 ohm and 1.6 µF in series.
• Reflection coefficient 0.05 or less in a 1 GHz 20% time domain reflectometer system.
• VSWR dc coupled (except option 04) 1.4:1 at 10 mV/DIV and 1.20:1 from 20 mV/DIV to 1 V/DIV, from dc to 1 GHz. For ac coupling the same, only 1 MHz to 1 GHz.
• Input offset current 50 µA or less.
• DC drift 0.04 div/°C or less

Der Tektronix 7A29 Verstärker in Einschub Technik ist der schnellste Echtzeit Verstärker aus der 7000 Serie. Er hat eine Bandbreite von 1 GHz. Der Verstärker hat Impedanz von 50 Ohm, er ist AC oder DC gekoppelt und hat eine automatische Überlastauskopplung. Er wurde konstruiert für die Verwendung in Verbindung mit dem Tektronix 1 GHz 7104 Oszilloskop. Der abgebildete Verstärker hat die Option 04, die eine variable Delay Zeit von +/-0.5 Nanosekunden ermöglicht.

The Tektronix 7A29 is a wide bandwidth amplifier plug-in unit designed primilary for use in vertical commpartments of the 7000 Series Oscilloscopes, special with the 7104. The input is 50 ohms impedance with selectable AC or DC coupling and automatic overload disconnect. Seven calibrated deflection factors, variable deflection factor and polarity invert selections are provided. Readout encoding provides for deflection factor readout included coding probes, uncalibrated indication, polarity invert and identify functions. A variable signal delayof +/-0.5 nanoseconds is available with the option 04 instrument.

Standard 7A29 without Option 4 (+/-500ps Delay Line) The adjustable delay-line allows a perfect matched timing of two 7A29 within one mainframe. When adjusted, a rising slope of the same signal applied on both channels, the slope occurs exactly on the same time. It's only necessary that one 7A29 amplifier has the Option 4. The shown instrument has a broken AC-DC knob.




Standard 7A29 without +/-500 ps delay line.  But there ist another delay-line, necessary for reaching the "Plus - Minus" range. Without this default delay-line in the standard instrument, the Option 4 instrument could make only a "Plus".
